Beginning in Cluny, the Greenway follows the path of the former railway line and makes its way through the heart of gently rolling countryside into Saint-Gengoux-Le-National. Be sure to leave enough time to stop and visit the tourist centres of Cluny and Cormatin… The Greenway follows into Givry and traverses a multi-faceted landscape composed of forestland and vineyard-clad hillsides showcasing the area's rural architecture, including "cadole" stone shelters, washhouses and fountains.
The Greenways end at the southern entrance to Chalon-sur-Saône, in the district known as Les Charreaux. At the present time, no cycling connection has been laid out to connect with the Greenways departure along the Canal du Centre on the northern side of Chalon-sur-Saône.
15 bicycle touring loop paths, featuring variable levels of difficulty, have been marked and added to this itinerary; they include the following:
- 7 loops between Cluny and Saint-Gengoux-le-National,
- 8 loops between Saint-Gengoux-le-National and Chalon-sur-Saône.
