To the west, the "Digoin - Cronat" itinerary alternates between Cycling Routes and Greenways and traverses the heart of Charolais country, renowned for its lush pastureland and grazing areas.
From the Digoin marina to Gilly-sur-Loire, the route features 31 km on rural roads, over which the much hillier relief gives the cyclist a good workout. In Gilly, for a 12-km stretch, the Greenways follows the former railway line to the "Petit Fleury" Nature Park in Bourbon-Lancy, on the banks of the Loire. The last 16-km segment continues heading northward, via a medium-difficulty Cycling Route, and ends up in the village of Cronat.
