The LAMARTINE ROAD

This itinerary has been devoted to Alphonse de Lamartine, celebrated poet, author and statesman.
The highlights of this 60-km route which starts from Mâcon (Lamartine's birthplace) and continues through what is known as "Lamartine's Valley":
- the Lamartine Museum in Mâcon,
- the Monceau Chateau in Prissé and its "Pavillon des Girondins",
- the Chateau at Berzé-le-Châtel in the Mâconnais,
- the poet's childhood home in Milly-Lamartine,
- the Pierreclos Château,
- the Saint-Point Château,
- Bussières, with its church, Lamartine's tombstone and the Monsard hillside.
