THE SAONE-&-LOIRE: A DEPARTMENT FULL OF COLOUR

Since 1995, the Saône-&-Loire department has been bestowed the "Landscaping Beautification Trophy", a distinction attributed by the National Landscaping Committee.
The department's municipalities, landscaping professionals and individual residents extend considerable efforts all year round in order to beautify their locales and thereby create a welcoming and attractive environment, in keeping with fine Burgundian tradition.
Top award winners are the cities of Mâcon and Paray-le-Monial, both of which have been attributed the "national grand prize, 4-flower" distinction, followed by 54 cities and villages boasting ratings of either 3-, 2- or 1-flower.These award-winning cities and villages expose the visitor to the diversity and abundance the various Saône-&-Loire regions have to offer. There's no better symbol for a warm welcome in a quality and harmonious environment than the presence of flowers far and wide.
